Von Pauillac aus sieht man einen Turm auf einer Insel in der Gironde liegen. Patiras ist mittlerweile gelöscht, wird aber erhalten. Nach der Renovierung erfolgt nun eine gastronomische und touristische Nutzung.

Als Oberfeuer, mit Trompeloup als zugehörigem Unterfeuer, markierte Patiras eine Fahrrinne in der Grionde, die sich jedoch verlagert hat. Damit wurde der Leuchtturm nutzlos.

My next possibility to take pictures of a lighthouse will be in about two weeks in Dublin. I hope to be able visiting the four lighthouses in the harbour … depends on the length of my business meetings and the light.
